Elastomeric Bearings (EN 1337-3) EKE
SERVET USL laminated elastomeric bearings are produced according to Eurocode EN1337-3: 2005. All bearings are produced from 60IRHD natural rubber containing steel plates and rubber layers. Although standard dimensions are shown in the literature, bearings with special dimensions can be produced upon request. Laminated elastomeric bearings are excellent for use in structures with relatively low loads or movement requirements. Once installed correctly, these bearings require very little maintenance.
Laminated elastomeric bearings consist of natural rubber layers separated by steel plates. A rubber layer surrounds this structure (Figure 1). These parts are then vulcanized to create a compact, maintenance-free structure. Elastomeric bearings can absorb horizontal movements in all directions and rotational movements around every axis, thanks to the deformation of the elastic layers. They are used for short and medium span structures.

Natural rubber is not very sensitive to changes in temperature and shows only small deformation during the deformation period at a constant load (low creep). Natural rubber is highly resistant to ozone, aging, UV and chemical effects. Vulcanized steel reinforcement plates meet the requirements of BS1449.
Advantages:
- Easy to install
- Maintenance free
- Continuous functionality to ensure long service life
- Ability to work at very high or very low temperatures
