SERVET USL > Britflex MEJS – Modular
Expansion joint conforming to the Highways Technical Specification and UK Highway Standard CD 357

Compliant with the Highways Technical Specification and UK Highway Standard CD 357, the modular Britflex MEJS is a mechanical expansion joint installed in bridge expansion joint openings. The primary function of Britflex MEJS is to allow vehicle traffic to proceed smoothly through large expansion joint openings. It does this by dividing large expansion openings into a series of smaller openings called cells. These cells allow for the necessary thermal bridge movement (expansion and contraction) while the bridge provides a smooth driving surface for vehicle traffic. Britflex MEJS is used in movement ranges up to 1500mm.

Britflex MEJS also has the secondary function of protecting the surrounding bridge superstructure and substructure. All Britflex MEJS cells; It is equipped with waterproof seals that prevent corrosives such as debris, water and de-icing chemicals from passing through bridge expansion openings and damaging superstructure and substructure components.
