SERVET USL > FEBA
Plug type expansion joints conforming to the Highways Technical Specification and UK Highway Standard CAD 357

SERVET USL provides three different plug type expansion joint systems for use on all highway bridges.

FEBA – is the standard spigot type expansion joint providing a flexible, waterproof connection with excellent ride quality and noise-free properties for minimal impact on the environment. FEBA, plug type joint accommodates design movement of +/- 50 mm horizontally and +/- 1.5 mm vertically and is ideal for use on bridges with low traffic volumes.

FEBA HM – is a high modulus plug type expansion joint suitable for low to medium movement of +/- 70 mm on road bridges with heavy traffic. FEBA HM is a proprietary blend of bitumen, polymers, fillers and a surfactant formulated to combine good fluidity at application temperatures with low temperature flexibility and ambient temperature slump control. The use of basalt aggregates (BS EN 13043) provides excellent load bearing capacity and high resistance to ruts. This combination of highly interlocking aggregates allows the system to provide excellent anti-rutting properties.

FEBA HC – Bituminous plug type joint developed for use in tropical climates.

NOTE: Design, construction and installation criteria are the same for all connection types.
